Ashley Truman, Lac

MAOM, Licensed Acupuncturist & Herbalist

Ashley attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Public Health, focusing on population health, disease prevention, and healthcare systems. She then worked as a Clinical Care Technician at Tufts Medical Center in the cardiology step-down unit, gaining firsthand experience in both life-saving interventions and the importance of preventive care. This dual perspective deepened her appreciation for holistic medicine and inspired her to pursue a Master’s in Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine at MCPHS/New England School of Acupuncture. There, she completed extensive clinical training in Chinese herbal medicine, orthopedic acupuncture, and Japanese acupuncture.

Ashley has experience treating a wide range of conditions, with a particular focus on hormonal health, fertility, pregnancy, postpartum care, and menopause. She is also skilled in pain management, digestive health, stress-related conditions, and nervous system regulation. As a trauma-informed practitioner, Ashley understands how past experiences shape both physical and emotional well-being. She creates a safe, supportive environment and tailors treatments to each patient’s unique needs, using a gentle and compassionate approach. Her clinical toolkit includes acupuncture, tui na, gua sha, moxibustion, cupping, herbal medicine, and lifestyle guidance to promote long-term healing and resilience.

She continues to expand her expertise through post-graduate studies, including advanced training in hormonal health, fertility, perinatal care, and facial reading with leaders in the field including Claudia Citkovitz, Lee Hullender Rubin, and Lillian Bridges. Her commitment to lifelong learning ensures she brings the latest research and techniques to her practice. By integrating her background in public health with her clinical expertise in East Asian medicine, Ashley provides comprehensive, personalized treatment plans that empower patients to take an active role in their healing journey.
