Most of our patients receive a custom herbal formula as part of their treatment plan, prescribed by a licensed herbalist at the same visit. Where acupuncture works in the treatment room, herbal medicine works around the clock, extending and deepening the therapeutic effect between sessions.

How it Works

After your acupuncture treatment, your practitioner may recommend a custom herbal formula based on your specific pattern and presentation. We draw on classical formulas refined over thousands of years and modify them for your individual needs. Herbs are typically prescribed as teas, powders, tinctures, or capsules. We find a format that fits your life and preferences.

At VIBE, herbal prescriptions are always overseen by a licensed herbalist. Our team collaborates closely on cases. This means that regardless of which practitioner you see, you have access to our full collective expertise, including herbal medicine. Prescriptions are reviewed and adjusted as your condition evolves.

Is it safe?

Yes. All herbal prescriptions at VIBE are overseen by practitioners licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine and board certified by the NCCAOM. We source only from suppliers with rigorous quality and safety testing, and we always review your full health history and any medications you're taking before prescribing.
