Your body is designed to be fertile

Fertility is the ultimate expression of balance and health within your body.

Whether you are trying to conceive naturally or are already on a path of assisted reproduction, we have helped hundreds of families begin their fertility journey. Your path to conceiving begins with an in-depth consultation where we discuss all aspects of your health. This consultation allows us to take a holistic birds-eye view of your fertility, and identify any underlying factors that may be preventing you from getting or staying pregnant. Together, we will create a custom treatment plan that fits your unique needs. These plans often include acupuncture, herbal medicine, supplements, and diet or lifestyle recommendations.

How does Chinese medicine help?

Acupuncture and herbal medicine have been used for thousands of years to support fertility, and in the last 20 years, a substantial body of peer-reviewed research has validated their efficacy. They have been shown to be helpful for:

  • Impact plasma levels of hormones that indicate your fertility: FSH, LH, E2, and progesterone

  • Regulate and normalize the HPA axis

  • Increase blood flow to the uterus and improve uterine wall thickness, improving odds of conception

  • Improve hormone balance in those suffering with PCOS

  • Lower stress hormones

  • Increase production of endorphins which has been shown to affect GnRH which is a regulator of reproduction

When is the right time to start working on my fertility?

There is no wrong time to start, but if you have the luxury of choosing, we recommend at least 3 months in advance of when you would ideally conceive. It takes 3-4 months for your eggs to mature, so eggs ovulated at least 3 months after your first session will have the most benefit from the changes we make together.

What if I plan to do ivf, IUI, or ICSI?

We work with many couples going through IVF and have an excellent relationship with many reproductive endocrinologists in the Boston area. A substantial body of peer reviewed data suggests that acupuncture improves IVF outcomes, and we would love to chat with you about the best path forward for your unique situation.
